Many dates later, he proposed
Shank: Many many dates later, i decided not to be a 'chicken-noodle' and embark on the next phase of our lives by asking Hema to be my wife. Since Hema is an avid foodie, there was no other right place to propose to her than Restaurant Zen. Working months ahead with the Chef and maître d' of the restaurant, we planned a classy way of surprising Hema. And she indeed was surprised and delighted when i got on my knee and proposed to her.... Of course SHE SAID YES!
Hema: It was meant to be a regular date night. Shank told me we are going to a restaurant that I always wanted to go to. I of course immediately guessed that it was Restaurant Zen and was excited for the meal. Shank was rather quiet and distracted and he ate his dishes rather quickly. Something was off during the meal, these are things he never does. He also disappeared to washroom several times, little did I know at that time he did that to make sure everything was in order for the big moment.
When the moment happened, it was magical! The restaurant with the Swedish connection, the ring, the flowers and Shank’s heartwarming words, it was perfection.I knew Shank was the person I wanted to spend the rest of my life with!
We are so blessed to have found each other and now embarking together in the next phase of our lives.
As we celebrate this wonderful occasion of our marriage, we would like to invite all of you to join us in our Wedding celebrations and thank you for being an important part of our lives in one way or another.

Our First Date
Shank: Our first date will always be a memorable moment for me. What started out as 'just coffee' ended up with us going for our 2nd date on the same day for itself for dinner.
Hema was this mesmerizing woman I met, well versed with a wide range of topics but at the same time a fun-loving person who adored the small little details in life.
While i enjoyed the date and knew that this was the someone i would love to spend the rest of my life with... i was too 'chicken noodle' (as how Hema would put it) to ask her to be mine till many many dates later.
Hema: There was never a dull moment at our first date. The conversations, the laughs and even the food we ordered, we had so many similarities.
My mental checklist of a perfect date was slowing getting ticked as the date continued. Shank was funny, charming and quite the conversationalist.
I was very intrigued and secretly hoped he would ask me out on a second date.
